Nanuet, N.Y. (April 6th, 2020) – Chaitanya Shah (Chet) is a sales professional at B&H Photo and Video in Manhattan. He has been struggling to lose weight since 2016. “I have been going to different gyms, following different diet plans and nothing worked. I was depressed all the time and as a result of this I used to seek comfort in foods like potato chips, chocolate and other junk foods. I used to go to planet fitness, but I was not getting the proper guidance. I knew that I needed one on one training. ” said Chaitanya Shah.

Chaitanya Shah talks about his weight loss journey.

1) Why did you choose Peak Physique Personal Training, Bootcamp and Boxing?
I chose Peak Physique Personal Training, Bootcamp and Boxing because I like the hands-on trainings which I saw in my free trial class with Coach P (Issac). When I took a free trial class, I was thinking to myself man this place is intense, but I will definitely see results here with proper guidance. The environment is highly motivational, and I love the fact that even in a busy class the coaches pay attention to everyone one on one. Now a days, that’s hard to find. I still remember my first class and how hard it was for me to do mountain climbers with the bosu ball. Now looking back, I am glad that I found this place. I love the simple quote that the coaches always say, “NO EXCUSES”. I have incorporated that in my life, and it is true everything will start happening once your mind in convinced you can do it!

2) How many pounds did you lose so far? How long did it take?
I have lost 30 pounds and have more to go. I started in December, about 4 months ago. The high intensity workouts really help.

3) How did Peak Physique help you meet your weight loss goal?
They guide me on how to eat and when to eat. For example, I used to eat granola bars for breakfast, have a very late lunch and a big dinner very late at night. After joining Peak Physique, Coach Eliana gave me a meal plan.

4) How often did you work out at Peak Physique?
6 days a week and I am continuing strong!

5) What is your favorite form of exercise to do and why?
I love bootcamp. It helps me tone my body.

6) Have you had to deal with any injuries along the way?
No, because I stretch before and after working out. I also have a rest day each week.

7) What did you change in your diet?
I cut out all the junk food and the bad fats like trans-fat.

8) How did you manage to integrate this healthy lifestyle into your life?
When you want something bad enough, you find a way. Discipline is a must. What is working for me is I work out before going to work, and days I am home earlier, I go to the gym before going home. Once you start enjoying yourself, it becomes a part of you. Time management is key to a healthy lifestyle.

9) What is the biggest struggle: food, exercise, temptation?
Food is a big struggle for me. I was brought up a vegetarian. The foods suggested at the gym is based on fish, eggs, and chicken. The nutritional appointment with Coach Eliana helped me learn to become more aware of what I was eating and what I should be eating. Coach Eliana also suggested to have 5 small meals every day with a lot of water.

10) What motivates you to continue with this lifestyle?
I am so close to reaching my ideal body weight of 180lbs and I really want this so that is motivation enough.

11) What are your goals for the future?
I want to get down to my ideal weight of 180lb and then have a muscular body.

12) What is your best piece of advice for those just starting their weight loss journey?
In the beginning, go slow, one step at a time, your body will get used to it. One of the best advices I received from Coach Alex is go slow, one step at a time, and over time you will get stronger and faster.
