Nanuet, N.Y. (February 10th, 2020) – Azira Zekiroska is 24 years old. “I always been over weight. I’ve tried numerous types of diets and going to local gyms, but it never lasted long. I gained massive weight when I was going to school full time and working full time always on the road. I would get fast food to eat. As a college student, it was something cheap and quick” said Azira Zekiroska.

Azira Zekiroska talks about her weight loss journey.

1) Why did you choose Peak Physique Personal Training, Bootcamp and Boxing?
I chose Peak Physique because of how welcoming and motivating all the members and coaches are. Everyone at Peak wants you to achieve your goals. No one will ever judge you. They push you to go even harder. Which is extremely helpful, especially when starting, because you need that push. All of their classes, whether it’s boxing or boot camp, you will get that workout you are looking for 100%.

2) How many pounds did you lose so far? How long did it take?
I’ve been a member for 7 months now. I started at around 200 pounds my current weight now is 150. I’ve lost 50 pounds.

3) How did Peak Physique help you meet your weight loss goal?
Peak has helped me meet my weight loss goals by guiding me on what my body needs to maintain a healthy lifestyle. Each coach is extremely helpful on giving you any advice or tips on what to fuel your body with or stay away from.

4) How often did you work out at Peak Physique?
I work out 6-7 days a week and often do two classes back to back.

5) What is your favorite form of exercise to do and why?
I don’t really have a favorite exercise, but I love to work out on my core the most.

6) Have you had to deal with any injuries along the way?
I dealt with one minor injury with my knee, but there are always modifications for each workout.

7) What did you change in your diet?
I changed my whole diet. I went from eating fast food, rice, pastas and all the fattening foods to eating lean proteins and vegetables. I stayed away from red meat as well. I started to enjoy my veggies again. Eating healthy isn’t boring. Peak has a cookbook that is helpful with healthy meals if you ever run out of ideas.

8) How did you manage to integrate this healthy lifestyle into your life?
I made it my priority to meal prep every Sunday. That way, I knew exactly what I was consuming a day. If you are busy with school and work and always on the go, meal prepping is beneficial. After work, I would drive straight to the gym or some days do an early morning class.

9) What is the biggest struggle: food, exercise, temptation?
My biggest struggle would have to be temptation. I am the only one in my house that eats healthy. I love sweets such as cheesecake, so when I see my sister brings cheesecake from Rockland bakery home, I am so tempted but I’ll just look at it and will tell myself NO! It’s not worth it. But as you continue eating right, the temptation fades and it doesn’t bother me if someone is eating fast food or something sweet around me anymore.

10) What motivates you to continue with this lifestyle?
What motivates me to continue with this life style is my family has a background with diabetes and I would never want to go down that route. The results you get at Peak are life changing. Also hearing other Peak members weight loss journeys has motivated me tremendously to know it is possible if you stay motivated.

11) What are your goals for the future?
My goals for the future are to remain living a healthy lifestyle, finish school and become a child psychologist. Working with children, especially with special needs, is something I’ve always had a passion for.

12) What is your best piece of advice for those just starting their weight loss journey?
The best advice I can give for those starting their weight loss journey is think about yourself 6 months from now of what could be possible. Don’t give up to easily your body can do it if you convince your mind and you only live life put your health first.
